Young Miles combines The Warrior's Apprentice, The Mountains of Morning and The Vor Game. This link has a list of reading order including the Omnibus books available from Baen. And you do know that the link you provided is for paper books...? Last edited by jgaiser; 10-21-2010 at 07:41 PM. Reason: Added comment |

Just a heads up on anyone who downloaded the CD and is accessing it through it's web interface. Two books are available that have no links from the web.

The Vorkosigan Companion and Diplomatic Immunity are there in the "Novels" sub-directory in multiple formats. |

Thanks for letting us know! I'm reading Cordelia's Honor for a book club next year, so this is great.

I would, by the way, strongly suggest paying Baen when you find books that you like. I like their publishing policies more than I dislike their politics, and with so few publishers who get it, we need to reward one of the few who does. We need to make it more worthwhile to act like Baen than like the cabal; sure, you're just one person, but a drop of water is just one drop, too, and yet have you ever seen an ocean?

Half-way through Cryoburn, by the way, and it's definitely one of the better ones, with some memorable quotes ... like the one about going and losing the little maniac (one guess who said maniac might be). |

By the way, if you love the Vorkosigan Saga and want either a good reference to it or have ever fancied role-playing, take a look at the Vorkosigan sourcebook, written with Lois McMasters Bujold's assistance, and using the GURPS system (basic rules included).

Well, there's a lot of discussion among fans of whether the books should be read in internal chronological order or in publication order. Ms. Bujold sometimes jumps around in the timeline (Barrayar, which is the second book in the internal chronology was actually written rather late in the sequence). I think Ms. Bujold's writing powers have improved vastly since she began, so you'll probably notice the differences more if you read them in internal chronological order. A listing of the different orders is given here. |

I just check around the forum. Not having any idea how often Baen updates with another CD of books I just note when a new one is mentioned here. I imagine I'm not the only one to do that either. lol.

For myself, I really and truly appreciate Baen Books and their policies. I've bought all of Lois McMaster Bujold's books, either in paper or electronic format, and have gone on to download the ebook versions of the pbooks I have from the 5th Imperium.

I've also downloaded some of Baen's free library, and have since purchased more of the series that I've read. I always check Baen first when I'm looking for new sci-fi/fantasy, and I hope that they continue to trade for a long, long time (and will do my best to ensure that they do so by purchasing from them). Just slightly offtopic, but does anyone know if they're doing ok in this economy?? I worry about my favourite companies! |

Now if they'd just publish a few more fun adventure stories that don't beat you over the head with their far right politics so I can both reward them for their policies and enjoy a good book....

I do agree with you about the politics business. John Ringo in particular has for me, over the last few years, gone from a decent SF author to a writer of ultra right-wing political dogma. I find his recent books completely unreadable. |
