It'll disable the usbNetwork private command, that's all. (ie. won't change a thing if you're using the autoboot feature and never switch).

I've tried to rember which change I made to the iptables file but can't get back to the originial version. The md5sum won't match. I noticed there are extra spaces at the end of the lines so I guess there are a lot of versions to try...

I also tried to remove the file completely but that just makes the patching fail completely.

The patch expects the md5sum for version 3.0.1 to be c5854fe5414a78ae2e14f35386228ea8

Do you happen to have a copy of a 3.0.1 iptables file so you could send it to me?

Well, good news is, I didn't update my rootfs dump, so I have the 3.0.2 version laying around. AFAIK, it had never been updated at that point, so it should match.

Rule of thumb: Don't touch anything in the rootfs. Backup. backup. And backup again. .

3.0.3 is substantially faster at page turns if you are using the smallest font. 3.0.2 was glacial with a full page in small fonts. Browser also seems a bit faster.

By the way, the reported md5sums were for the patched files, not for the original ones.

OK. at the moment updating (now seeing the bootsup screen with the green light)

However, I couldn't find a way to update to 3.02 first. I was still on 3.01. I don't like the term "early preview". Sounds like a beta to me....

No need to update to 3.0.2 before. Amazon's updates pretty much always includes & apply previous updates step by step.

The "stable" version of 3.0.2 is, in fact, the very same file that was the "Early Preview" 3.0.2. Unless something significant shows up, I suspect it will be the same case with 3.0.3.
