I just tried from Germany and got the same result.
I think that if amazon is going to offer this internationally, then they'll be offering it at the "local" Amazon webshops. Sending it from the US would make little sense then in any case...let's hope that is what happens...

I would hope that they would do a fairer currency conversion, but to be honest...I'd be happy enough if they sell it here at all...even if it is priced at an outrageous 400€

I just checked Amazon UK, and the Kindle doesn't show up there presently.
