Hi! I realize that this is an old thread, but I'm new to all of this. And I wonder if there is any new info on Bible Study bundles for current or up & coming soon eBook devices. I've written to Pocket eSword and Olive Tree Bible Software to ask if they plan on releasing anything for dedicated eBook devices. No answer from Pocket eSword and Olive Tree said "nothing planned at this time". I really like what's out there for palm devices, but they just seem too small to read from. The iPod Touch shows a picture with 2 verses on it! How many page turns before you get through a book?! Just wondering... as I contemplate purchasing my first eBook reader.
I decided to write to Carlos@christiancdrom.com yesterday:
"You have an awesome collection of Bible software/eBooks, but what
I'm looking for is the same thing but for the dedicated eReader devices (ie.
Sony PRS505/700)that are now becoming more prevalent. Are there any Bible
Study collections available for these devices, if so, which ones (or which
format)? Thanks for any help with this!"

He responded quickly with this response today. This was his response.
"We currently don't have anything for the Sony Reader. We have plans to
convert our material over the next few months. However, our material works
with the Amazon Kindle. Thanks, Carlos"

I guess that I'm confused about the part that their material works with Kindle, as I didn't see any mention of that on the website. I'm encouraged that he said they were working on converting it for Sony though! The Kindle wasn't really on my list of choices that I had narrowed myself down to.

Any Mobipocket formatted eBooks without DRM will work on the Kindle.

I hate to necro post but I have no clue where to put this. Im looking for a copy of the New World Translation, Jehovah's Witness Bible, but cant find it anywhere. Im also trying to find a possibly better copy of the Book Of Mormon, Book Of Doctrines And Convenants and Pearl Of Great Price. Itd be even better if they were all together in one ebook. Ive found them from links in other threads but the scans, though very good, arent the best. Im also trying to find a copy of the Torah, the Jewish Bible, IIRC. And finally Im looking for a copy of the Quran in English. Can someone please help? Id especially like it if they were in EPUB format since that could work on both my phone and iTouch.

The canonical source for the Mormon scriptures is the LDS site. See http://scriptures.lds.org/ for on-line versions. They also offer things in various handheld formats, like Mobipocket, which may convert to ePub via Calibre.

For the other stuff, poke around on Sacred Texts at http://www.sacred-texts.com/. The Quran is here: http://www.sacred-texts.com/isl/index.htm

The Tanakh (Jewish Bible) is here: http://www.sacred-texts.com/isl/index.htm, along with the Talmud and other things.

They are in HTML format, but should convert readily to ePub.

I have an epub formatted ASV available for free on http://www.ereaderbibles.com/.

Thanks, found some of the Apocrypha. Funny thing, I have no idea how many books are in the Apocrypha or anything. Be nice if there was a complete version somewhere, free or not. Id probably buy it. Specially if it was an app for the iPhone or Droid. Most versions I find are incomplete. Are the Dead Sea Scrolls there as well? I looked but didnt see them, maybe Im missing them?

I took a quick look, and didn't see the Dead Sea Scrolls on SacredTexts.

They do seem to be available in a commercial edition: http://us.ebooks.com/ebooks/book_display.asp?IID=473478

I see that's a link to the Penguin Classics edition of "The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English". It's also available on Amazon at (at least in the UK) a rather lower price:

NVash:
I seem to have a version, as a .pdf :
Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered by Robert Eisenman and Michael Wise (PDF-PIC) v1.5

which I think I got from this link:
Link removed by moderator.

It's 8MB and 280 pgs, with location pictures, pics of script, and, given the amount of transliteration, a helpful edition. As long as you understand how to apply the vernacular to the culture of that age, you're in.

The Amazon version, is 680pgs and 1.43MB.

Hope this helps
//
Honico, this seems to be a scan and package as PDF of a paper volume published by Element Books, which was posted to one of the binary newsgroups. It's not a legitimate ebook offered under a license that allows it to be freely downloaded. Thanks for trying to help, but MobileRead has to err on the side of caution.
