I try and be good and read an entire topic before I post but 832 pages is asking a bit much.

So my rant is this.

My office spaces restricts access to many websites, not a huge deal. Part of my job is to stay abreast of current events across the globe, this requires access to news sites. For over a year the only news site we could access was Fox News.

Yup, that was it.

Now I can get to many of the newspapers and CNN but I cannot gain access to anything NPR related or even ABC, CBS, or ABC. But I can watch any program that airs on FOX. So I can't listen to Morning Edition but I can watch Glee.

I love where I work. I am behind on the news from time to time but I have entire episodes of Glee and Hell's Kitchen memorized.

Seriously... if you job is to get world news... then I'm not sure why they block this stuff from you.

Can you get to twitter? A lot of major news places are now tweeting top headlines. You can also set up searches for various key words. Much breaking news is tweeted about before it gets to the traditional media these days.

Now I will admit to an unabashed love of Fox news, but if my job entailed keeping abreast of current events across the globe, and my superiors restricted me to ANY one news source.......................

Hmm, what about newspaper sites? Some might post updating news. Or BBC?

And don't worry about not reading all the pages, this thread bounces all over the place. Some things are funny, but not necessary to understand most current posts.

We can get newspaper sites but that took some work. No Twitter or Facebook or social website. Google was blocked for a week.

My rant only recently developed ...

Homeowners with dogs that don't post the "invisible fence" sign. So when you start walking up the sidewalk a dog comes running out from the backyard and attacks & chases you off the property.

Few/no invisible fences around here...but I have similar reactions to people who know they have an aggressive dog, but leave their gate open and "control" their dog's charging of my dogs by screaming pointlessly at it and then apologizing...repeatedly...over many such events. And then they walk their dog down the street off-lead. Morons.
