I have no idea what is the most dangerous thing in those pics, but I'll tell you that it's the centipedy-looking thing that creeps me out the most. What is that?

Okay, in all fairness, there's nothing actually scary about the cute cute CUTE praying-mantis... but I'll show photos later of the more 'cute' stuff that's around here.

Okay, here's a little video of the centipede doing a run around. They don't really go for humans but they will give you a nasty bite.

Of all the things I showed on the previous message the first (slim, head shot) snake is maybe the most 'deadly' ( it is an Elapid, venomous but not deadly to humans ). The olive/black spotted one is just a rock python.

Attached in this message however is a spider which could be quite deadly. It's closely related to the Sydney Funnel web , we have them come into the house when we get heavy rains as their tunnels become flooded.

I should point out, I prefer not to interact with these creatures (praying mantis is okay

). Around here you just learn to let snakes pass you by, stand still, don't do anything rash, they move on. Most of the time they're near/in the house because you've got rubbish around the place and you're attracting their food (mice, small lizards, etc).

About 150mm diameter. In the attached photo, you can see it on the side of the boxes. From the general items in the room you should get some gauge of its scale.

It scared the daylights out of me more than once as it would enjoy getting into those boxes, as if waiting for me to open them up :shudder:

The thing is, for as scary as it can be at times, most of the time you never see these critters. It's only because we live on a bit of rural land - once you move more into the city you do not see quite as much.
