I used those for awhile, but for multiple cats, litter disposal, and not to mention that those crystals go EVERYWHERE!!! they DO track out on the toes! I had to give them up

I have problems whatever we use.
crystals and they get spread all over the floor.
pellets and they disintegrate into saw dust and get spread all over the floor.

we did find bags of wood pellets that disintegrated into a fibre rather than dust. when the manufacturer changed it into pellets that ended up as dust, I asked them why and discovered the fibre ones were a temporary measure!

I hate how I blink for a few days away from this thread and it leaps ahead by 5 pages. There aught to be an intermediate filter that weeds out utterly boring posts. The trouble might be though that I would get caught out by my own filter

iy's the wood pellets that turn into fiber that I use. they are intended for pellet burning fireplaces. the urine saturated ones tend to clump and are scoopable similar to the scooping litters. apparently, those aren't good for kitties... who knew!?

New curtains
Why is it so difficult to get new curtains?

I want some new curtains like the curtains I've already got (only not torn) - I thought I'd be able to ring someone up, get them round, tell them what I want and get the job done.
But no, I'm supposed to measure up (using some calculation I'm bound to get wrong), then go out and buy the material myself - then they'll do a bit of sewing, and charge me an arm and a leg for the privilege.
The prospect of measuring up, and then traipsing round somewhere to buy material paralyses me with boredom - I literally can't summon up the motivation to do it.
I think I'll take the curtains with me to a shop, and just tell them to make up something similar - what a palaver!
