I recently finished The Disappearing Spoon as an ebook (public library download), and was a bit underwhelmed.

Now onto a strange book. The Science Behind The Secret by Travis S. Taylor. So far I'm distinctly unimpressed. I'm only going to finish it because I want to see how he gets where he's apparently going, which seems to be off the deep end. Of course, I haven't finished the book yet, so I could be mis-judging him (& the book), but having an introduction by John Edward isn't a good sign IMO, and the first chapters haven't don't anything to make me more optimistic. Oh — weird feeling of deja-vu just now. I wonder if I've written a similar post about James P. Hogan. Last edited by pdurrant; 10-10-2010 at 04:40 AM.

I know that a couple were available as ebook in before the Agency thing in April. BooksOnBoard didn't have them a few weeks ago but now they seem to have reappeared. Unfortunately ther are not available as epubs, due to bad experiences with pdf ebooks I try to avoid that format unless I know for sure they will look good on my ereader. Thanks for the the tip, I might just email the publisher asking about an epub version. |

Dennis, Thanks for the tip about "I was Monty's Double." I looked on Netflix here in the US and was disappointed that it doesn't seem to be available here. I'll keep looking. There has to be a way to get it. I wanted to add that there's supposedly a film version in development for MacIntyre's other book Agent Zigzag, based on the Eddie Chapman tale. Good stuff. Gimme a con man and an espionage mission in a compelling historical setting and I'm hooked. Steve

I just finished Point of Origin by Duke and Nancy Kell. It was a pretty cool plot- just the kind of plot I like- but the writing was really distracting. I hate when that happens! (review on my blog if you're interested) I'm not sure what to read next. I have so many books on my eTBR, but I think the plibrary book that is due on Tuesday is going to win out. It's by Terri Blackstock and it's called "predator." I read (well, sort of read, sort of skimmed) the book this evening. It was just "ok." Guess I'm on to something else! Now I can return it with a clear conscience Last edited by GraceKrispy; 10-10-2010 at 01:26 AM. Reason: read it! |
