I am wondering why other people can write stuff and then strike it out, leaving the text with a line in the middle, and I CAN'T WORK IT OUT

Can somebody do it please and I will learn from the formatting. This simple thing I don't know how to do is driving me crazy.

I just not long got back from a 15km/9.3mi return walk through the National Park to Hell's Gates (the end of the headland). There's a big swell of there, and a bit of wind (weather still around from last night's 250mm/9.8" of rain system).

Anyway, it was my first big barefoot walk. We went on a long walk the other day, wearing shoes, and about halfway through my feet were starting to rub and ache. Today, barefoot, through rough mixed path (gravel, dirt, tree roots, grit, sand, mud, water, bitumen and cement in spots) and my feet are slightly sore on the pads, but only in a "you've been walking a lot on gravel" kind of way. They handled the walk just fine (no "structural" aches). So, the barefooting is working, toughening the soles, and causing less/no foot ache. If it was more socially acceptable, I'd not wear shoes again (though the bindii in people's lawns/nature strips is always a problem). As it is, I hardly ever do (shoes almost never, thongs/flipflops for shopping, etc.).

Cheers,
Marc

Too windy for a treadlie ride this afternoon. Had my bath early and am in pyjamas ready for the evening.

Good to know your feet are getting tough. I am too wimpy to go bootless in my old age, but as a youngun I was always barefoot or thonged up (flip flops/jandals). I remember the local vet always having a a go at me about my lack of boots when dealing with the horses.

I'm not a spiritual person, though I'm happy to touch on "spiritual" wording as a useful metaphor that most seem to relate to and, while it's a cliché, I do feel more "in touch with Mother Earth" when getting around barefoot. Not (just) in a hippy-greenie way (though that's a fair analogy), but in a feeling of actually being real, and being a part of reality (this probably as an aspect of my personal makeup that imparts in me a feeling of dissociative derealisation most of the time - I tend to "compliment" or critique things or experiences by saying "It feels/looks real", and mean it as I say it, and not just as the usual intensifying phrase).

Cheers,
Marc

I learn something new every day! And that is something I was wondering how to do also! That covers today! Now there's no pressure on me for the rest of the day!

No holiday here... I'll blame it on the Indians.

I seem to have been reading a lot of books about Hell lately myself. (of no import, just contextualizing your post into my own life)

I used to walk around all the time in college with no shoes...until winter at least. My feet were very tough. Now, they are weak and lazy. I do a lot of walking around without shoes, as is the custom indoors, but not so much on gravel and tree roots and such! youch!

Is it a long flight? Would feel like a waist of money to get first class if the flight only lasts for an hour.
