All teas, except herbal tea, comes from the same plant: Camellia sinensis. The differences between black, oolong, green, etc., are in the handling and processing of the tea after it's picked. All black teas, such as Assam, Kemun, Ceylon, Darjeeling, etc., come from this same plant, and the differences in flavors are caused by the nutrients in the regional soils where they are grown. 'Orange pekoe' is a grade of tea, rather than a type of tea.

My house is about a 45 minute ride from the tea gardens of Uji. Hillsides covered with tea bushes. Beautiful to see. Some of the finest Japanese green tea comes from these plantations. I can't drink the stuff... I guess it's too high quality for me. In green teas, I prefer the low quality stuff unless I'm drinking tea served in a tea ceremony. My wife will kill for the high grade Uji teas though. She loves it. Not me... Pearls before swine, I guess.

On a motorcycle ride through the tea gardens I picked up some tea berries and planted them on my veranda. It just a small potted bush but once a year we can pick the new growth and make two cups of tea from it. Frankly... I prefer Fortnum & Mason.

Many thanks for posting that - else I'd not have found this thread again for at least 60 seconds (I'm watching the "Life Feed" so I can see what everyone posts ).

I'm about to now go make another cup of the lovely chamomile... time to prep for sleep; today has been a harsh day.

Anyway, how do you do it? I mean coffee dregs. Is it a residue that is left after you make the proper coffee? When you finish one cup, you can pour more hot water and drink it? How many times can you re-brew it?

We make our coffee in a cafetiere, but no matter how fine the sieve is there are still some grains that get into the cup/mug, and I do not appreciate a mouthful of these !

That's your essential fibre/roughage intake supplement. Also, if it's the first press/brew it can often be quite zesty still
