It was never really an ideological thing for me; I just never really cared for their coffee, with the exception of when my brother worked at one but then it was free.

their coffee really isn't that bad. it is the same price as any other coffee shop (and sometimes cheaper). they are making a big push to focus on fair trade coffees which is very important. they also have decent quick food, teas, and other drinks. people just rlike to starbucks bash. I guess they are the microsoft of coffee.

personally I prefer Tully's, but I don't think they are outside of the northwest

I can get an excellent large cup of coffee for $1.25 in Times Square.

And the idiot who asks for a "half caf latte, extra sprinkles" gets yelled at by the owner of the place. In Greek!

Rooibos is very nice. On the rare occasions that I don't feed my caffeine laced coffee addiction it makes for a nice change. And it does indeed not contain any caffeine.

When I first wrote the post, I was thinking of how many people I had that were marked as "followers" of the blog (bottom right), but that's really not a big deal. I was just feeling lame. I feel so much less lame now, for which I have my great MR friends to thank!

As for what I'm doing now, well, I just got home from seeing a few more houses. Nothing compares to the house we put an offer on a few months ago. It's a short sale, so we are still waiting..... the houses we saw today are ok, they're just not "the" house. *sigh*

The way to lose as a house buyer is to get an emotional attachment to a single one. It will end up costing you money.

I've honestly decided that if we don't find another house we want (because I'm not going to buy just to buy, even with the lower prices), and this house we put the offer in doesn't happen, then it's not meant to be at that moment. I'm not too worried about it, really, we have a roof over our heads right now. The short sale is moving along and we're the only offer they are considering, so it's not out of contention yet.

One we looked at today was a higher price with a lot of square footage... but the entire basement was sectioned off into three apartments, which cut the footage of our living space in half. It also need a lot of work, which would take extra money we wouldn't have because of the higher price point. It was also a short sale. The upstairs is nice, and if it were just that, I'd definitely consider it... for a lower price. If it looked easy to put in internal stairs or somehow make the house one unit, it would be more attractive. We're not interested in becoming landlords right now, for many reasons, so houses with rental property built in are not appealing (although I know, it could pay our mortgage).

I'm a strong believer in following my gut. We'll see how that pans out

(I should add that I would LOVE to find a house I love better and that is cheaper and closer to my job rather than the one we are waiting on, so I'm pretty open to something else! Nothing we've seen since even comes close though)

By all means.. I'm not saying buy a house you don't like or want. I'm just saying, don't get emotionally attached to one.

As you say, take your time. If you are not forced to leave where you are now... buying a house is a big decision.
