I'm going by what I see grazing at my local McD's. We don't get tourists, the only teens are behind the counter and the retirees are only there on Sunday morning for the free seniors coffee. The rest of the time, they are at IHOP.
And I know about living on a budget.
I never eat out.
And I would never suggest that rebarnmom and Chris are anything but svelte. And sexy.
But skinny people have heart attacks too.

Well, I can't speak for rebarnmom, but Chris had a cholesterol check less than a year ago that was perfect. *shrugs* Who knows?

Thanks all! But we can stop talking about what I look like! I think some of us see ourselves differently in the mirror, than in reality. Sadly, I can empathize with girls that are anorexic. I've never been one (I like food too much ) and I detest throwing up, so I'll never be bulemic. But the self-image thing is definitely a struggle I can appreciate.

Despite my crappy diet, my cholesterol has always been in the desired range.
My biggest downfall is the lack of exercise I get (as I sit in front of the computer so much). When my treadmill was working, I got a lot of exercise and enjoyed almost every minute of it. (I wonder if they make treadmills with built-in computers.) Just thinking to myself, because I would rather crank the music and sing to my heart's content on my treadmill, than read or compute. But my husband has chided me with the suggestion or idea that I should use the treadmill to power my laptop.

Do what I do.
I look in the mirror and announce "I have never seen that person before in my life!" with all the conviction I can muster.

Just one of the reasons why I am completely issue free and a poster boy for good mental health!

I *know* we do see ourselves differently in the mirror. I just got a new hair style (with bangs) on the strength of that. I have a small mole and a blotch on my forehead that were driving ME crazy, but apparently neither Chris nor the lady at the salon could even see the blotch...

I usually say that when I see myself in a rare photograph!

I have the opposite going on; I like the person I see in the mirror; the photographs, not so much.

Same here; plus quitting smoking and not riding my bike nearly as much as I wanted to this year combined for an easy 20 lbs, and not where I wanted it.

This can be done, I'll have you know...

In fact I started building a mount for my netbook to put in my truck; think I'll adapt that for an exercise bike over the winter.

You ladies sure are intent on driving yourselves, and everyone around you, totally barking mad!
I grew up in a house with 3 women with "issues".

Luckily, I flunked the serial killer entrance examination!

I used to use a treadmill. Boring.
I like long walks.
It's done wonders for my weight and dodging idiot drivers has really improved my reflexes.
I do sometimes dare people driving MiniCoopers to hit me, though. Cars are built by Fisher Price!

ISSUES! What Issues?

I'm gonna' go out on a limb and hope that I don't get banned...
but I think that womens issues with their looks, come from experiences involving too many of the opposite gender who prefer beauty on the outside over beauty on the inside.

Of course, I know that none of you here on MR feel that way, but that is my experience.
