It's never the price of the phone for me. Smartphone service is to damn expensive. $70+ a month.. I just can't justify it. If I were self-employed and always on the road, sure. But.. otherwise.. my cell phone makes and receives phone calls.... and cost me $15 a quarter.

I just had to share that one. Yes, Amazon discounted a number of indie to FREE for a few days, and DEAD(ish) just has that trendy dead-people-paranormal-stuff feel to its cover and description, so 'sales' went nuts. Man, that was a trip and a half - 5 days in the life of a bestselling author!

Yep, that's exactly what it's about and why I've avoided it til now. I made some adjustments in my lifestyle -- dropping DirecTV etc to trade off for the doubled monthly cell bill and so far feel it is worth it. The think I like most about the DroidX is that I can use it as a book reader, camera, mp3player etc and it's always with me, I don't need to haul several different devices around and I can use it anywhere to bring up Google Maps, look up something on the internet etc.... I'm lovin' it!
