I believe (at&t) the provider of my whispernet is now blocking port 443, and port 80. Is there any other port that I could assign the server to that the kindle would accept ? fixed Last edited by TonytheBookworm; 09-26-2010 at 05:31 AM. |

That might be the issue. I'll play around with it and see... Thanks for pointing me in that direction. |

Oh boo....
I can't change the mobile template like I can change the normal browser template! Looks like the mobile template is compiles python? (I changed my normal browser template because I don't care about rating or date and they took too much screen real-estate...) |

@Kovidgoyal
First off thanks so much for this program, it is very nice! Regarding the webserver, would something like this be possible? I don't like leaving my PC on 24/7, I have a NAS however that can function as a webserver and I do leave it on all the time. Is it possible to have my library stored on a network share and then copy the web files and use the NAS webserver with them? I can't even seem to find where the Calibre webserver stores the html files on my PC so I could peek at them. Currently I'm just duplicating the contents of C:/Calibre Library to my NAS and serving it as is, nothing fancy just purely directory listing. I'd love to have the slick web interface of the normal Calibre webserver. Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

@sweatpea
You should still be able to get the Calibre one running but you'll have to specify a different port. That said, if you're already using both 80 and 443 which are the only ones that the Kindle's web browser will allow over a 3G connection, then yes this is probably the answer to your woes ![]() |

But, I got another idea... I noticed that the webinterface uses an ajax call... I think I'll look into that and try to incorporate it into my own web application... |

Running Windows 2003 on my webserver.
Edit: And it works! Which means I can make use of Calibre's webserver, without using the html pages. And as I'll be calling that service serverside, I won't have problems with the different port number. And, another plus, I'll be able to make something that will allow me to connect with my WinMobile devices. Last edited by Sweetpea; 10-05-2010 at 08:18 AM. |
