PRS-650 Cases

Today, I have ordered the red case for 650 from http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/; the total cost with postage is £25.99. They also have the black one which at Waterstone's costs £29.99.

With the new infrared version of the touch screen, I wonder if you would have issues using the touch features in this kind of case. It might be worth experimenting by putting it in a more mundane kitchen "baggy" first.

I have the leisure case from my 600 and just put my 650 inside it to try.

The 650's touch screen does not work well through the plastic face of the M-Edge case. A page swipe would work maybe 1 out of 10 times and selecting items from the home screen worked with the same accuracy.

I will probably still use this case for my 650 but will be relegated to using physical buttons to turn pages.

Thanks for letting me know..I think I'll wait a bit and see what comes out in the next few months..

Funny thing too I don't swipe the screen to turn as I find the buttons more convenient for me so if M-edge doesnt come up with specific 650 cases I may just order it anyways

Well, I got an email yesterday telling me that, in fact, the case is out of stock but is on order and will be - hopefully - available after 7th October.

I had the same problem. I suspect it's because the semi-colon is being included as part of the link address.

Mailed to M-Edge as well. I think everyone should do the same unless we want them spend their entire lives making new sleeves and jackets for Kindles, Nooks and iPads

i emailed them twice

I happened to be passing Waterstone's earlier today so I popped in to see what they had in stock. They had both black and silver 650s and black cases for them (with and without a light) but not red ones. Not a sign of any 350s or their accessories though.

Folks from M-Edge have written this on their Facebook page:

Hi Sony Reader users! For those who are requesting covers for new Sony devices: thanks for your suggestions. Currently, M-Edge does not have any jackets in the works for the new Sony Reader models. However, due to the interest in accessories for them, we're considering adding them to our lineup.

And:

In the meantime, we have some sleeves that will fit the Sony Reader devices, and we'll be updating our website to show which of our existing products are compatible with each Sony device. Thanks for your patience, and we appreciate your feedback.

To me the latter is already good news. I mean, I'm afraid to buy a reader without a cover but I ain't sure that official covers are too nice.

I sent an email a few days ago.

M-Edge is in bed with Amazon. They will come out with a Kindle case for any new Kindle models. But when a new Sony Reader comes out, we have to wait and wait and wait for them to get cases out. By the time they do, it will be too late and people will have bought the Sony case. No wonder why their sales of Sony cases are not all that wonderful.
