Nook 3G +WiFi, serial number 1003...which is not currently softroot-able. Brand new in sealed box.

AFAIK, it's impossible to change a firmware on Nook, if its version starts from 1003****

You're right. I just checked Nook Devs and it's 1003 serials running 1.4.1

I got the numbers mixed up and thought it was serials starting with 1004. Changed in the OP.
