MSReader

Hi! I'm new to the forum so I apologize if this is old territory. I rooted around alittle an couldn't easily find any MSReader stuff so here's where I'm at...

I can't get my MSReader to work now when it did before. It freezes when I open a book. But what I"d really like to do is open my DRM books and convert them to epub. Much better format. I want to get everythign into one format and use one reader.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks ya'll!

Welcome to MobileRead, Rogerperk.

You haven't stepped on anyone's toes, we aren't allowed to give instructions on breaking DRM. This is a privately owned site and would put it in jeopardy.

Scout around, keep looking and enjoy. There are lots of free books available here.

Well then, there's my answer! Thanks for the heads up. Having said that, however, any advice on how to either get MSReader to work right on an HD2? My goal is to get to one ebook system.

I know it's not much advice but I've given up having one ebook system. At least for now. Simply because I haven't found a single source that provides all of the books I want to read. And converting them, especially DRM'd books takes a bit of effort.

Having said that try peeking over at the wiki for other Windows Mobile apps, some of which might be able to handle multiple formats. I personally have a couple of different apps on my phone (Android) to cover my entire library. It's been a long while since I used Windows Mobile so I'm not up to speed with what is available there.

At one time format shifters preferred buying LIT ebooks because it is so easy to strip the DRM. Now ePub and MOBI are just as easy, and LIT has almost disappeared. As usual, see Apprentice Alf's Blog for a summary of DRM issues. The standard approach for LIT is a command line program, but there is also a GUI which is easy to find with Google.

Thanks folks! I got most of mine moved to epub from lit, which is ok. I'm still struggling with 5 books I got from B&N but I can live with that. Appreciate the help!
