I don't do side work.

The new xfrm is installed, the thermostat has power, but when he went outside he found the circuit board fried. He refuses to take payment because he says he doesn't accept payment unless he fixes the problem, and he doubts he can find a circuit board for that model. On the bright side, as I said before, it's on it's last legs anyway, and he can get a new unit at wholesale prices. He's going to check to see is he can find a board, and give me a quote on a new system while he's at it.

So I go to mandatory training (the grocery chain I work for is 'rebranding' itself), and I come out of it all cheerful and ready to go get 'em. I get to work and everyone is upset and grouchy; some of them with good and sufficient reason. How can we do what they want us to do if they don't give us the support structure in which to work? I'm being told to do one thing in training, and going to work and seeing the exact opposite being done.

I personally only use or want Trane units. I have two of them now and they both work very well.

Of course, many people will say pretty much any mainstream brand is fine and it is the install that is important. But, I disagree. Also, I always opt for the full 12 year parts/labor warranty. I've needed it once so far and it saved me quite a bit of cash.
