I'm going to ask the RSPCA and the RSPB and Bill Oddie, to help in doing a survey of Wild Kindles in the UK ... Encoraging members of the public to Report any sightings !

I work in a library and we are actually planning to loan out a handful of ebook readers, just to let people get their hands on one IRL.

I have never seen another e-reader in public, period, besides my own. My best friend's wife has a K3 and an iPad, but that doesn't really count.

Also I didn't see any e-book readers in the wild, but I think in austria they are not so common.
Also in (european) airports never saw one, but maybe because I first started to look for them since I ordered the kindle.
IPads you see, but never saw someone reading, only Movies and surfing.

I've seen quite a few while flying. a couple on the Metro when I was in D.C. not so many here. I live in a fairly rural area so that is not entirely surprising, but the one I have seen here was at the puppy park. I thought that was pretty cool!

I live in Atlanta, and work in Buckhead. I have not seen any ereader in the wild (just mine, my wife, and my mom) except one evening riding the elevator down from work. It was in a case and I recognized the color of a K2 so asked him.
I've gotten a few comments when reading in public, but I don't think most people have a clue what it is. I also see rather few people reading anything.

I've seen several Kindles and a few Sonys on flights and on film sets. I've not seen any other ebook readers (I don't include iPads ).

I was on London underground on Saturday (could have been Sunday - can't remember!) and saw a lady with a Kindle 3 and a red leather case - same as mine (except I have light and she didn't). Didn't have my kindle as was with friends but wondered if she was a mobileread member

The lady in front of me in line at the post office a few days back was reading a K3. And I did interrupt her to gander before I realized what I was doing.

Only time I've ever seen somebody with an eReader was on vacation a couple years ago and it was somebody on a beach with a Kindle 1.

I see Kindles at Disneyland a lot. People reading while waiting in line.

Although I'm in the UK so I wouldn't have expected to see that many Kindles since you needed to import them at high cost from the US before the K3. Still not seen any other eReaders even though I've seen Sony ones in the Sony Centre stores.

A recent vacation trip was a bonanza. One in the outbound terminal and three others on the flight. Three more in the return terminal. All were Kindle 2s. A couple of those people saw me reading my brand-new Graphite K3 but didn't ask about it.

Before that I had someone with a Kindle 2 sit down next to me on a flight just two weeks after i started researching them. He let me take a look at it and answered my questions. I looked over at my wife and she rolled her eyes. She knew it was a done deal then! Another one at a seminar I attended just after I bought my K2 but I wasn't able to talk to him.
