Wandering about Laos - did it for a few months three years ago. Most beautiful country in the world with some of the poorest, and kindest, people I have ever met.

Iceland, followed by rail across Canada, then down to Grand Canyon/LA then Hawaii, Japan and New Zealand, across Australia (by any means possible) then home via African Rift Valley and Italy. Stopping to visit friends of course ...(you know who you are).

The route, as you may have noticed, include some of the volcano chains around the world....

Off I would go to the USA, and Montana. I've always wanted to stay on a working ranch. It's the Cowgirl coming out in me I guess.

Then on to experience the fabulous train journey through the Grand Canyon.
On to Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and Alice Springs. Ahhhhhh bliss.
I must take another look at my retirement fund.

Malawi. I went there in 2000 and had a wonderful time - the country has some of the kindest, most decent people. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Same goes for Suriname. I haven't been there since age 5, but have plenty of family there. And I *love* Surinamese food, so that would only be a bonus

Off to Scotland - to tour (and sample) every distillery (no time limit right?) - esp. on the islands.

Then off to Ireland - repeat tour - try to move into the Guinness brewery.

Then off to England - walking tour from pub to pub to pub .....

[I figure ending with the walking will detox me from the previous activities.]

Wagon train is a possibility. Sure, some parts are only accessible by hiking or mule, but there's still a lot to see by wheel.

A regular train also seems to be available:
