All is going will with my new home-brew tivo. I have it recording the "regular" BBC News (in place of BBC America) and the local news and I've collected several Nova and Nature programs already....not missing DirecTV at all! and certainly not missing the $55/month bill.

Isn't it wonderful! These shows play just fine on my laptop via hdmi to the tv!
