Probably someone may have already suggested this, but I'd like to see an app that plays and displays MP3s on the kindle. The audiobooks I have aren't from audible and it gets annoying that I don't where I stop and now I've given up on it.

ahhhh...I completely forgot that part...the MP3 player is, well, not great. Thanks...I just searched real quickly and I had also forgotten that on the K2 (fro my fast look) does not let a person play MP3's in the background? I think I remember a thread about this ages ago about exactly this short coming. However at least you can get a fair to decent MP3 player cheaply enough. still that means one more device to lug around no matter how tiny they are these days. The ability to do more than one task, as in read and play in the packground, would be super as would a decent MP3 ability. I mean if you have the ability to perform a function why do it less than even half-way? Bummer...

The K2 played MP3s just fine in the background.

If you drop the MP3 file into the 'audible' folder (rather than 'music') then you can select it from your items list and play it the same way you can with Audible content. It will keep track of your current position etc.

A BATTERY ODOMETER. An accurate "meter" of battery condition, current (pun intended) condition, run-time between charges, EVERY ASPECT of the internal-and-not-user-replaceable battery pack.

If I could start this thread up again, here is something that, if possible at all, should be easy for a Kindle Development Kit programmer to code. The problem: I've misplaced my K3 in our somewhat cluttered house. The solution: Whispernet delivered turn-on of K3 audio. Charge 99 cents for each activation, and I would buy it immediately. If $1.99, I'm going to keep searching the old fashioned way a lot longer. |

Well, I got the green one for just that reason. But when my wife was sleeping in late this morning, right on top of it, that didn't help much (And as I think others have reported before, this caused no damage.) |
