I've only glanced at Smallville over the years, but I remember reading when the series was starting that one of the rules for the show was going to be: No flights, no tights. At the most, you might have seen Clark float a few inches off the ground at the end of the series. Considering what the clip showed, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Superman suit make an appearance.

What I'm surprised by are the number of DC characters who have made an appearance in Smallville over the years. I'm especially surprised by the appearance of Maxwell Lord, considering what that could potentially lead to.

I had the very same problem just last month. Several good people came to my rescue with the solution.

From the 'advanced' reply form, select the YouTube icon. (Sounds as if you got this far already.)

From the video's URL select ONLY the part after the final '=' sign, as follows;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRwaVanPTDE
Cut and past that part only between the youtube brackets, as in;
[YOUTUBE.]bRwaVanPTDE[/YOUTUBE.]
(I added some extra periods in the brackets
so you could see what it should look like.)
Sometimes it will be numbers, sometimes letters, sometimes both.

The result should be;




THAT should get you an embedded video. To be sure, check it with a 'Preview Post'

They had him floating a few feet off his bed early in the series. Seems the poor boy is prone to nocturnal elevations. (Not to mention having him really flying while under the influence of certain forms of kryptonite.)

I spent most of my late teens and early 20's trying to get beautiful women OUT of their tights. No one told me I was supposed to be putting them in!

This is where the comic book explanation comes in handy. One of the reasons that the glasses are part of an effective disguise (which also includes a change in body language, such as the way he speaks and carries himself) is that Superman doesn't let on that he has a secret identity.

To the world at large, he is Superman all the time. But for Superman, Clark Kent is the real man while Superman is simply an identity that allows him to operate in public while still maintaining a private life.

Added to this is the help he has received over the years from friends with the ability to shapeshift or create illusions. Both Supergirl (the Matrix version) and the Martian Manhunter (a green martian with the ability to shapeshift) have appeared as either Superman or Clark Kent with the real Superman/Clark Kent to effectively convince people that Superman and Clark Kent are two separate people.
