my Mom was the same way.... "clean your room the cleaning lady is coming tomorrow!!!!" drove me NUTS! it was more work havign her come than not!

for the brief period of time I had a cleaning lady as an adult, it was mostly for the DEEP stuff I just didn't get to... she would pumice the toilets, honestly did the windows, a deeper vacuum on the carpets than I did and that sort of thing. back in the day I kept the house pretty neat and didn't have to worry about cleaning for the cleaning lady

Lately I have been spending so much time dithering around here, that I was elevated(?) from Evangelist to Fanatic.

I am not a fanatic...........am I? Hum!!! Not sure.......*thinks*, maybe just a little bit of a one.

When are peple going to learn to use traffic roundabouts without making it into a dice with death?

ARgh... this "MIGHTY MOUSE" is nothing of the kind. The little wheel keeps getting clogged. I'm gonna have to open it up and clean it "fer real" or perhaps just TRASH the damn thing and go buy a replacement.

I don't think I will like the magic mouse though, without middle click ability.

Yep... I'm constantly doing the "turn it over and roll it on a piece of clean white paper while pressing down hard" which works for a day or two.

The Mighty Mouse is not as good as it should be. I'll be replacing mine with something else when it eventually breaks.

I like the Logitech Marble Mouse instead. It's a trackball, but that's what they name it. Optical, I guess, cuz there are dots all over the ball. And the ball lifts up very simply, when you want to wipe the dust from around the three contacts.

I have a Logitech USB optical mouse. I used to use a Logitech 3 button PS/2 mouse, but it finally died. I use the Logitech instead of the generic USB mouse because I've gotten used to the convenience of a scroll wheel, but can program the scroll wheel to issue a double click if pressed. I got used to that with the three button mouse, and now have a hard time living without it.

I was amused by the various ball cleaning recommendations for ball mice, as it was never the ball itself that needed cleaning: it was the three interior wheels that translated mouse motion to signals sent to the PC. Those would pick up random crud in use, and are a pain to clean.

The only problem with the Logitech USB mouse is that Windows periodically loses track of the fact that it exists, and I must unplug it and plug it back in again to get it recognized. The problem was lessened but not eliminated by a driver update. Have to go check for another...

I have a friend who has a cleaning lady come in once a week for just that reason. She's a neat housekeeper, but she also holds a position in marketing communications for a financial house, and works a very full week. When she's not working, she can think of other things to do besides deep cleaning, and cheerfully pays someone to do it for her.
