The fact that the Orizon doesn't have a dictionary is really disappointing (not being a native English speaker but reading lost of English books), it could be my reason for buying the Sony PRS 650 instead.

I've found a video on YouTube about the Orizon, it's in Italian but at least we get to see it in action. And I really like the close-up of the screen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EaF8AfXVmI |

This video is really old. I doubt this is representative of the real Orizon..

This is the response of support of bookeen about prc format, folders and dictionaries:

The Cybook Orizon also has the folder view option. This Cybook will be natively compatible with EPUB and it will not be possible to have two firmwares. The PRC format is currently not compatible with the device. There is no embedded dictionary. We are however aware that this feature is very important so we plan to include it. |

Here's a recent article from electronista about the Cybook Orizon.

http://www.electronista.com/articles...ropean.markets It looks slick, but I don't think I'd like the touchscreen on a reading device. Too messy. L.J. |

Will there be a centralised, Pocketbook-maintained repository for them? Something like bookfast, but backed by you? I don't want to have to enter the-ebook.org using Google Translate to dig up for goodies.

Some footage of the Orizon at the Gothenburg Book Fair

			Hi all,

As promised, here's some footage I shot at the fair of the Orizon. I found it wasn't easy holding the camera with one hand and trying to get it in focus and handling the ereader with the other hand, but I think you get some ideas of what it does and looks like. Some thoughts: Obviously the software isn't ready yet. This is a beta and/or lacks some functions. As you can see the screen is very responsive and works in some aspects as the iphone with pinch. But the screen is actually a bit darker than the Gen3 reader. A fact I don't think will be changed by the final (or newer) software (firmvare). What do you guys think? Take care, Magnus |

My apologies. Thanks for the videos Magnus ! The Orizon screen really looks a lot darker than a 'normal' e-ink display. It might be a little too grey for my taste. But: hooray for multi-touch screens ! I might just bug Bookeen a bit more, ask them whether it's possible to adjust the brightness of background and text manually. They must really love me by now
