Cory Doctorow's "When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth", from the "Wastelands" short story collection. Second reading, every bit as good as the first. |

I just finished "Executive Lunch" by Maria E. Schneider (also of MR fame)- fun read! I'm now reading "Hemlock and the Wizard Tower" by B Throwsnaill. I'm only a few pages into it so far, but it's looking pretty interesting....

I'm reading "War of the Flowers" by Tad Williams. Superb book ! Only 50 more pages to go ... Too bad I have to go running now, maybe I'll just take it with me When that one's finished, I'm going to read "Black Prism" by Brent Weeks. Been waiting for that book a looooong time. |

I walk and read all the time too, but running and reading proved to be a bit too difficult (yes, I actually tried it). Kept bumping into my training buddy, which really pissed him off. I didn't mind though The real problem is the bouncing when you run, makes it hard to stay focused on the words. |

For running you can always listen to audio books. | |

I find audiobooks great whilst walking, following the Doc's instructions, ( my running days are loooooooong since past.) Working my way through the audio versions of the James Herriot books at the moment, (read them many times). |

I'm afraid that may be true of me as well, but still have hope....if I can lose some pounds walking then maybe my feet and knees can take it....

I'm listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks right now whilst cycling, but mostly because Stephen Fry is such an excellent narrator. One thing I really like about reading is getting immersed in a book so that the rest of the world just disappears. Audiobooks don't work that way for some reason. I think I'll just stick with fast-paced music and annoying my training partner whilst running, but thanks for the tip |

I must agree about audio books. They don't work for me either, but many people seem to like them -- particularly for certain activities.

Currently reading The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly. #4 in the fantastic Harry Bosch series. Only around 10% in so far, but enjoying it tremendously already.

I just started "The American Chronicles" by Robert Vaughn. Nine very long novels. Looks fascinating.
