Whether you call it God or not, practice some forgiveness of those who you at first don't perceive to match your mental statement.

The issue they have isn't with the idea of evolution per se, but with the blasphemous notion that it's not over. Many Christians will agree that the creation myth in Genesis roughly equates to evolutionary stages -- ocean first, then crawling things, then bigger animals, and then mankind, which wound up with a kind of sentience that other animals don't have (as far as we can confirm). The clash between Christianity and evolution isn't with the gradual shifting of shapes (except for the 6000-year crowd, which is a pretty small group these days; most Christians are content for those "six days" to be "six god-days, which could be millions of years each"); it's with the fact that evolution says it's still happening. Animals are still changing. Mankind is still changing. The Christian doctrine is that, after those six days (whether they are 24-hour days or billion-year days), YHVH *rested*, called it *done,* and the process stopped. This is important only in dealing with non-Christian religious people who have no problems with evolution; a lot of people forget that the concept "evolution" is not incompatible with the concept of "gods."

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=187 I was using the name "Paul" as a shorthand for "the pseudoepigrapha popularly attributed to Paul" . Whoever wrote them, though, the fact remains that their teaching is regarded as a part of the canon of the New Testament.

I'm of the opinion that the process of the evolution of life on Earth is the single most fascinating, profound, and important discovery ever made. If I seem to concentrate on that subset of True Believers, it is because it is the one that matters most to me.

Oh your of the opinion are you? Well what about the discovery that if you just lay down your weapons and love your fellow man, things get better for everyone?! I'd say evolutions just a pawprint compared to that. Oh yeah and by the not everything about evolution is proved yet. Please read more about the life of Jesus....

Word of God, a song about creation. From the author: This song was inspired when a friend of mine complained to me about a run-in with some Creationists, and asked "what can you say to such people?" The first words that popped out of my mouth were "humans wrote the bible. God wrote the rocks. Quote:

"Ancient Makemake might actually have begun as an epithet – Old Rapanui makemake means ‘tumescent (of the phallus)’ – of the leading deity Tangaroa, who, on Easter Island, appears to have usurped the creator role of Tiki te Hatu and / or Ta¯ne.""
