I tried to pinch-zoom the sat-nav in the car today. It doesn't work. It not being a touchscreen probably was part of the reason.

The cynic in me would say that that is a nice summary of the evolution of all pop culture items. "That looks popular. Let's do exactly the same thing, loud, media-saturated, but without the creativity and (ironic?) panache".
