Thanks! Nice photos.

I'm glad I opted not to buy the new 350 Sony cover and went with a cover for the 300 instead. I don't like the way the new cover looks and it doesn't seem as sturdy as the 300 cover.

Sure thing

I can't really feel the difference between both to be honest, and I laid them side by side and they are the same thickness.

However, 2/3rd of the exterior is now the same velvety material as the inside, and I too am doubting how long this one will remain looking pristine...

I picked up the silver PRS-350 today at Best Buy in Hamburg, NY. It was the only one that they received, and it was in the back room. They did not have a display model or accessories, so I bought it based on the pics I've seen here. Thanks for the enabling! I like it a lot.

Pros:
It weighs the same feather-weight as my Opus.
Silent page turn like the Nook and PRS-600.
The Pearl screen has noticeably darker blacks than the Opus (my husband noticed as soon as I took it out of the box and I hadn't even said anything to him). It only has slightly darker blacks than the Nook.
PDF reflow (not an option on the Opus)

Cons:
I did really want WiFi for Wikipedia and book-buying. When the specs of the PRS-950 are announced, I'll take a long hard look at it.

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention is that the back has a slightly different texture - I wouldn't quite call it rubberized, but the paint has more grip, less slip, than the front.

Best Buy didn't have accessories, so I'm keeping it the PRS-300 Clutch case that I just bought on eBay for $5 (I bought it for the Opus).

Thanks for sharing the pics. I can't tell from any of the pics I've seen - is the the 350 front cover a navy blue, or a black? Or both?

I REALLY want that green and cream one I posted about earlier, but I don't even see it on Sony's site, so I wonder if it was a prototype

The leather part is really dark blue (darker than navy imho), the velvet part is black!

My local (Victoria, BC, Canada - downtown) Sony Style store just got in the 650's this morning. I have mine (well, it's for my wife) in my hands now!

Has anyone who pre-ordered a device received it yet? I placed a pre-order for a black 650 on Sept 1 (an embarrassingly implusive buy), and the Sony website still lists the shipping date as Sept 2, and the order status as: shipping update (whatever that means). I know I should just be patient, but I'm really looking forward to getting it, and everyone posting the great pics isn't making it any easier! I'm in Illinois, USA.

Well that is bad news for me, I called and ordered this past Saturday and mine says estimated ship date of today, which got me excited. However, the lady told me that if I ordered Saturday mine would ship out this Thursday, so hopefully that is correct or I'll likely be cancelling my order and finding one in a local store, maybe even a 350... I'd call them and ask though, I'd expect yours would have shipped by now if you preordered back then.

I just got a shipping notification email from SonyStyle.com. The tracking indicates I'll get my red PRS-650 on Wednesday. I'm sure those who ponied up for overnight will probably have it tomorrow if they ordered the red one. The black PRS-650 ones still show on backorder on the website.

Man I wish I liked the Red. I saw that the Black version showed available and estimated shipment of 9/21 this morning for a short period, and also noticed that my estimated ship date switched to 9/20, but it doesn't look hopeful.
