I had friends in Texas who had descented skunks as pets. But I think here in Illinois having one as a pet is illegal. (As is having raccoons, squirrels, etc. as pets). Reasoning with a skunk sounds like a *really* bad idea, LOL!

Summer is still holding on - in the 90's F - but cooling into the high 50's at night - so fall is on its way!

A storm the size of Australia has engulfed New Zealand! Our electricity went off at 9:30 last night, and was off till 6:30 a.m. We went to bed by candlelight. Channelling my inner Victorian.

The sun is shining, though cloud is now building up.

It's been a messy week, a ground frost Monday morning, otherwise chilly with wind and showers - often not pleasant.

Have to report we've switched heating on !

Beautiful weekend ahead of us here. Very Dry though, could use some rain. For the moment the forest fires are under control. They opened up the Four-Mile Canyon area last night. Over 160 homes destroyed and it's being called the highest cost fire disaster in CO ever.
