On the suggestions side:
- As it's being said, multiple selections is a must.
- So is auto-scrolling and the ability to keep collections closed when adding items.
- It would be good to have a visual cue when a book is already part of some collection, such as changing color, etc.
- A floating tooltip could show which collections the book is part of.
I agree with all of this. I just updated to the latest CM and noticed that in my Samples directory CM lists one book, While the Savage Sleeps, multiple times. When I look at the Samples collection with the Kindle itself, it's only there once.

I really, really like the idea of some sort of indication in the left pane that a book is already in a collection. That would make it easy to find new books that need to be put in a collection.

On my wish list, I'd like for KCM to read the tags (which are in the .mbp files), just as calibre does (have an option, as it can be slow with a few thousand books) and then build the collections based upon that. That would eliminate a ton of work for those with large libraries, plus would let us maintain the info in Calibre (as most of us are doing), but then pop into KCM to fix the collections. Doing so would then be a matter of moments.

In an ideal world, KCM would update the tags to reflect the Collections value, as well. Which would let me easily update Calibre's tags from the Kindle.

Tested it with my newly arrived Kindle3 - works perfectly.
Two more ideas to make sorting lots of books into collections easier:
* right-click on book with an "Add to collection" menu with all collections as items, and all collections, the book is already in are marked (bold or checked).
* show the tags, if present.

I experienced the same thing - I thought it to be normal that there is no confirmation page or something displayed?

I have about 70 books which I urgently need to put into categories and KCM would be very useful!

I have been able to use KCM to organize my kindle thanks so much it is great. Like I have said before the only real change I would like is to be able to select a group of books and place in the collection at once.

I have been using this for a little while now. Very nicely done. I have no bugs or usability issues, but so far one feature I would certainly use if it were added is a "create collection from subfolders" feature. I understand that there is no collection/sub-collection hierarchy, but I would still make use of such a feature even if it flattened out all subfolders into collections.

I too have the same issue. I don't have my original email with the link to d/l the update, so I tried re-registering, obviously with no luck. I also sent Adrian an email yesterday but haven't heard back from him.

I had no trouble registering at all and downloading the software. But it does not work on my DX. I moved books into already existing collections but after rebooting my Kindle there was no change. I had to move the titles over using the Kindle itself.

Hi Adrian:

First, LOVING this application. Needed to add a few more items to my Kindle today and realized that I have this - it works great. Here is some feedback:

(1) A few folks have mentioned this but bears repeating, being able to highlight multiple books at one time and dragging to the newly created Collection would be helpful as well as time saving. I have a book series that has 16 books in the series, so I moved the books one at a time.

(2) Is there any way to set both the left and right side to show alphabetically? That would be great as I had to search a little on both sides.

Just two suggestions, overall the program is much better to use then working on the Kindle. Thanks again for developing this and letting me be a part of the beta testing.
