Bought a 300 from my local target for $74 plus tax. Too bad all the accessories were sold out. I am using it more than my 900.

Some Target Stores will go through several discount reductions.

I bought a 505 at regular price and another at a clearance price like above and the took it down twice more following that.

No and No...

And the cover for the 505 does not fit a 600... I know, I have both.

I checked the prices out at Target and Walmart both today. Walmart was selling it for their usual 149.99 and Target still said 171.99 on the display, but when I looked more closely, I could see the boxes of readers (locked up) said 121.99 for the 300 and 137.99 for the 600.

PRS-600 for $129

I bought a 600 yesterday for $129 at Sears. My receipt says that it's returnable until 12/7 ( hope so). Maybe Sears will have a sale on the 650 on black Friday... well maybe
I have a lot of B&N epubs that I can't read on the Sony, so I'm going to look into doing something about that and getting MY books on MY reader.

I almost took advantage of the deals that Sears was offering on the Sonys... alas it appears they have sold out their stock as they no longer appear on the Sears website. That being said, as much as I like my wife's PRS-505, I can't get over the fact that they have never updated ePUB on the devices to allow for justification.

Its hard for me to buy any device that the vendor won't support, no matter how good the hardware is.

I think I landed a good deal comparably, had this PRS-600 on my radar for a few days, and one fine day, the sunday that went by to be precise, found this for 92 inclusive of taxes, I just took it, after playing around for a while, I was so impressed (value for money perspective) I decided to pick it up for my girl friend, called up the store next day, found they only had on piece on stock, at the store found this was an open box item, asked the store guy, if I could get further discounts, and he agreed paid 78 inclusive of taxes.

Really happy with my purchases, and glad to be back in the love with reading.

Yep, if I found it that cheap, I probably would have a hard time resisting as well.

target price

2 different TArget stores I was at recently has the 600 on sale for $119. Strangely the price I could see on the 300 was still $149. They must not have updated it yet.

At the store I got mine at (for 74.98) the clearance price wasn't listed on the display, it was on a red sticker on the box of the reader itself, which was inside the locked glass shelves under the display.

probably lucky for me. I imagine they might have sold out had they displayed the price more prominently. but there was still one 300 left. no idea how low the 6 inch touch models got. they were out of those.

There's a really good chance that's $2.48 more than Target's cost.

(Edit) which likely wouldn't even cover shipping/handling. There's no sense losing money on products like these when people are still buying them!

Target's still holding to the sticker price of $150 for the 300 around here. The 600, which was discounted, is sold out. There's still 3 of the 300s at the store, locked-up inside a cabinet.

Apparently Target markdowns vary from store to store. I've printed the 300's UPC on a piece of paper, that way I can hit a scanner to check the price without walking across the store to the electronics section.

Even though the 300 is now discontinued, at $75 it's still a great deal. I'll check again on Monday, which is supposedly the day for electronics mark-down.
