One more thing, can't find where the PRS-350 stores bookmarks. Looked around the menus to no avail, browsed the owner's manual but if it's there, I missed it. Knowing me, it must be something really obvious...

On the 600, which should be very similar to the 350, you can find your bookmarks listed under Notes. In the book, press Options, Create/Edit Notes, then press the Notes icon. If you want a list of all bookmarks for all your books, press Home the All Notes. If both lists the reader displays different icons next to each note to indicate what kind of note it is -- bookmark, handwritten, typed, etc.

Excellent, thank you very much - it's the same on the new readers

I got the zipper case that I ordered from Sony Style US today although I'm not sure why I got it the next day, or delivered on a Saturday as I went with the cheapest shipping option.

It's not as bulky as I thought it'd be, the 600 just fits in it, but there will obviously be wiggle room with the 350, could very likely be compatible with the Sony cover for the 350 but I won't know for sure as I have no intention of buying a cover, I doubt very much that it would be compatible with the Sony cover for the 650.

I would say that I'm patiently waiting for my pink 350 but that ended the moment that I got my case for it, now I can't get it soon enough.

Have you tried charging it with an Ipod charger or the like? Just wondering if there are any other options for a wall charger than the $30 one that Sony sells?

I'm sure any micro-USB charger will work. And the USB port of the iPod charger should work too.

I just called my sony store asking if they had demo's of the new readers that I could view and they said yes. I also asked does she know when they will start selling and she mentioned that the 16th is their debut date.

I was thinking of going to the Sony store but the closest one is 73 miles away and I don't want to drive over an hour just to see a gadget that I'm not even buying right away.

My only other Ebook reader was an iphone so this seems like a massive improvement to me.
I just watched your video and I must say that I'm impressed with the screen. The page looks very white. That is most often a deal breaker for me.

When I got the first prs 600 I noticed that the page look/feel had it looking a dull color. I just want a white looking screen when reading and this 650 has it so I'm definitely get it.

The faster page turns are great as well.

Confirmed, the iPod charger works, and you can use the device while it's charging too.

Is micro USB what the previous readers used, or were they mini USB?

Thanks for testing that. I never could get this to work with my 600; it always went into USB transfer mode. This sounds positive.

I hate you all. Now I've got to work and won't be able to get a new toy until probably official "release date"

As far as what the previous Sonys were, they were barrel connectors like the Sony PSP. As far as chargers are concerned, I thin kit's absurd that Sony still doesn't put one in the box, Amazon and B/N do.

Is this the same connector that they use on new cellphones or the K2/Nook

Older Sony Readers used the larger mini USB, plus the had an AC barrel connection port too. By using the micro USB they are now using the standard charger port accepted by most cellular phone manufacturers. Ironically, my Kindle AC USB charger will work with the new Sonys too.

You can buy USB AC adapter dirt cheap, and probably already have one. How arrogant is Sony that they think they can sell you one for $29!
