Does the K3 support authentication? I have no idea. Try turning off the password.

The fact that it hangs tells me that it is connecting to something, and it doesn't like it. Not having a Kindle of any form I can't go any further than that. Perhaps someone with a Kindle will chime in.

Okay - progress - got to the password screen, entered my info, then got the error message. Sheesh. I've typed the info in about a hundred times now. :-/

Thanks. I'll try more tomorrow, er, later today.

Yes, it does. I've got it working with authentication from my K3.

Are you using your K3? And are you seeing the mobile version? (How do you know? You see a list of field names, including tags.)

If you are, then one way you 'search' by clicking on the category, then the value.

Not having a Kindle, I can't know if you see what I see. That said, when I connect to the mobile site, I see what is shown in the attached screen shot. There is set of boxes across the top that handle searching and sorting. You should be able to type into that box any search expression that calibre will accept.

Ah! Great! I wasn't looking at the mobile version, since I had the version of calibre that didn't default the kindle to the mobile version, but now that I'm looking there, it looks good.

Thanks!

The only time mine will connect is when the password and UID are off. What OS are you running?

Multiple libraries and content server

Poor Kovid...

Okay, well, just like you didn't know some of us were going to jump on multiple libraries like "stink on skunk" as I believe Jeannie put it; along with support for multiple libraries comes a need (well, I need it, anyway, LOL) for support for content server to handle multiple libraries.
Right now, as designed, what shows up in content server when it's enabled is my main library. But inaccessible is the other one, and that one is the one with the books I'm most likely going to need access to away from home. Is there any way to add support in content server for multiple libraries? Or is it going to be way too much work to implement? I realize you have a to-do list the equivalent of War and Peace, so I'm hesitant to even ask, but curiosity as to if it's even possible got the best of me. .

Thanks for a wonderful program that just keeps getting better;

You can serve only one library at a time with the content server. Allowing it to serve multiple libraries is not going to be possible. You can however choose which library it serves if you run it from the command line instead of the GUI

Since it appears several users here have kindles. Hopefully it will be okay to ask my question here as well. Have you been able as of today 9/17/10 to download mobi files via the content server? I'm running calibre 7.18 and everything was fine as of yesterday. I can access the server on the kindle but when I go to actually download the mobi file it states basic web can not download this file. please try again later.

I even tried emailing the file to myself and that didn't work either so I'm wondering if amazon decided to disable the downloading via the browser. Please tell me they didn't. I have my document convert charge set to 0.00 and it has been that way before with success. Like i say nothing has changed on my end as far as i know. Other than my ip address.

for those interested in how i fixed this read http://www.mobileread.mobi/forums/sh...ad.php?t=71220

comcast was blocking my serving on port 80. I could connect but i could not send anything out.
