This is quite a good series, but I have heard that the British translation is better than the US one. I personally read it in Danish, so I don't know the truth of these rumors...but my friends who read it in English have confirmed that you should try to get ahold of the UK tranlation

The ones for sale through Amazon US are credited with Reg Keeland as translator; the one Amazon UK is offering lists no translator credit. |

Here in Australia we used to get all our books from the UK, but nowadays the majority seems to come from the US. (With one slight modification - it's not at all unusual to find the content of the book set in US English spelling, but it to be bound with a cover set in Australian English. It's a trifle schizophrenic.) So, the copy of "Dragon Tattoo" I was lent having the same translator as the US edition is no surprise, and it's no clear indicator that a separate UK translation doesn't actual exist. |

It looks like people are mistaken...unless they are complaining about the translation from the original Swedish (which I doubt) because I find that the book was translated by Reg Keegan, who also goes by the pseudonym Stephen T. Murray!! I am at a loss...having not read it in English I can't say!

.Yes, "Reg Keeland" is certainly credited as being the translator of the UK editions I bought from Amazon UK. |

So is this another BEST SELLER Because everyone says it is a best seller and must be read...or is this actually something worth reading? Most Best Sellers fit well into the PULP FICTION category...so... just wondering if this is the same inane.....?

It seems to be a trilogy that people either love or hate. Personally I found that the story itself is good (only read the first book), the character of Lisbeth Salander is fascinating, but I think that he's a bad writer in a more technical sense. If the story hadn't been as good as it was, I would have put it down. The only way to find out whether you like it, is to try a sample.
