There was an error encountered when processing your request.

Window - Your kindle is unable to load the requested page.

Running version x.18 of Calibre. Content Server is on and tested. Cleared cookies and history on Kindle, disabled firewall on pc - still doesn't work.

Any ideas? I'd really love to be able to use this. Many thanks in advance.

Oh, and Calibre ROCKS!

THoughts:

1) was it the kindle that displayed the error?
2) can the kindle open any web page?
3) try http://127.0.0.1:8080/mobile. There may be an issue with calibre recognizing your kindle as a mobile device.
4) which kindle is it?.

The 127.0.0.1 address is the "localhost" one, and as such is only visible from the PC/Mac when testing the content server. If you are trying to access the Content server from the network then it needs to be replaced by the external IP address of your PC/Mac

If you are running windows, then
1) open a command box
2) type ipconfig
3) Look for the section that describes your network connection (ethernet adaptor, wireless, etc)
4) Your IP address will be listed on the IPv4 line.

Your IP address almost certainly begins with 192.168, and will have two more numbers after, such as 192.168.0.44.

You shouldn't need to. Kovid added recognition of the Kindle 3 in 0.7.17 (I think).

Of course, if it doesn't work (and if the IP address is correct it will not work in a different way), try it with /mobile.

Yes, you need the :8080.

Is your content server running? Be sure that you can see the content server from your PC using the 127.0... address.
