There is one unique feature of the Sony library: it will display books pretty much as you will view them on the reader. This is useful if you like to preview formatting changes without the hassle of having to transfer the book to the reader.

I'm sure it would help if I knew what you were talking about. Actually I have some idea of what you are talking about but have no idea how to do it. If I should figure out how to do it, can this then be replicated as a collection on the reader itself?

I was referring to custom columns - these can be created by going into Preferences | Interface and then selecting the plus (+) icon to define a new column to appear in the display. This new column can then be edited either in the metadata screen or by double-clicking the column in the main listing. These new columns are not visible as collections on my Sony - only the entries in the Series column and the Tags column are translated into collections on the ereader - one collection for each series and each separate tag. The collections on the ereader display titles in the order in which they were added to the ereader which I find rather irritating. My usage of the custom columns 'Have Read' and 'Waiting' is to drive a search in Calibre to select all unread items waiting to be read. The results of this search are then fed into a Calibre catalogue entitled 'Current Reading'. This is downloaded to the ereader as an epub. I can then consult the catalogue to refresh my memory as to what I should be reading next. And yes, I admit it, I derive a certain amount of pleasure from twiddling with Calibre and organising my collection, as well as the great pleasure derived from reading. But hey, it keeps me off the streets!
