I tried reading it last year and didn't get into it - with what you tell here, I think I'd better just pass it completely. You saved me some time - thanks

It's a good film, and very beautiful. I can definitely recommend it. Actually, now that you've reminded me of it, I think I will watch it again.

I finished "The Lacuna" today -- very highly recommend. I don't want to say too much because it's one of those books that you just need to allow to take you away. It's set mostly in Mexico City, with some parts in Asheville, North Carolina.

It led me to want to learn more about Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, so I just watched the movie, "Frida." It is beautiful! The descriptions in the book go hand in glove with the settings in the movie. Between the book and the movie, I feel as if I have been transported to another place and time tonight.

Finished Eat To Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and starting The Invasion by William Meikle. Wildly different subjects, but both good in their own way.

The book is already on my reader, waiting. Reading how much you enjoyed it, I think it will be the next one I start. I am looking forward to it

"The Quick and the Thread" by Amanda Lee (aka Gayle Trent). I'm about a third of the way through it... enjoyable read. Next up, "Ghost of a Chance" the first book in Simon R. Green's new Ghostfinders series.

Just finished the Tor.com short, "Eros, Philia, Agape":
http://www.tor.com/stories/2009/03/eros-philia-agape

Beautiful, fragile, haunting. Despite the "eros" in the title, there's no overt eroticism.

I'm working my way through "Harald," from the Baen Free Library, and marveling at the lack of what I'd consider key words, like "the." David D. Friedman's writing is oddly truncated, as if a writing coach gone berserk had gotten hold of the manuscript. And yet, I'm going to finish it.

I think the Analog was even better than usual. I really enjoyed all the stories. Now onto the Asimov's.

I just finished Crown Conspiracy by Michael Sullivan. Excellent fantasy novel and I will definitely be buying the rest of the series.

Just finished this month's book club selection, Killing Floor by Lee Child, an action-packed mystery/thriller that was so intense I had to be careful not to grip the Kindle too tightly lest it shatter in my hands.

If a thrill fest is what floats your boat, this one will have it hydroplaning!

I finished _Out of the Deep I Cry_... a good read. I enjoy this series. I will continue on to see what happens to the Reverend and the Chiefs relationship.

I started _Killing Floor_ last night.. which was bad, because I didn't want to stop reading it, but alas, bed time was past already.

Most definitely a page turner. Sucked it down in about 3 days. Already purchased second in the series.

I'm just finished reading "The Imago Sequence", a collection of short stories by Laird Barron. The stories appear to be Lovecraftian at first, yet prove to be so much more. A truly unique writer, Barron's stories are disturbing and nightmarish. Highest recommendation.

I am currently on page 304 of my first book on my first e-reader. The book is The Girl who Played with Fire by Steig Larssen. I have read the first of the trilogy as p/back, and having giving into my desire for a gadget I downloaded the 3 onto my new toy.

If I'd waited a month I could have had a Sony 650 instead of the 600 that I bought, but I didn't know that at the time I bought it, and it cost at least £50 less than the new one will. And £50 is at least 10 more books.
