Nope I'm rather fond of the truth. But saying that something is sophistry is outside the bounds of civil discourse. You might also have noted that he implied that I am lying about being a lawyer.
And frankly, it appears to me that you are doing the same thing. Is that what you intended by your comment? |

open the poll again, I am sure it will converge towards 80% for the no's.
Publishers take head and stop the shenanigans with ebooks: cross device compatibility, free ebook copies should a customer decide to buy an printed book, open standards and formats. If you continue to try to make millions by taking advantage of people (as the music and film industries learned by way oh haemorrhaging tons of cash, and they learned it too late an too bitterly, by means of being dragged to their senses by (mainly) apple), forcing them to buy high priced ebooks, forcing them to buy both ebook and printed book if they want a physical copy too, etc. etc. they will keep stealing your content. Offer them a good deal and a good product, showing that you respect them and they won't. |

This thread has finally reached the point of diminishing returns.
Neither side has *any* hope of convincing the other. What started as a question on ethics has run down a rat hole and it's time for the thread to be locked down and we can all move on. For my part, if this thread stays open, I'll not visit any more. |

I disagree, this is a heated issue, and pushing it under the rug by locking the thread won't solve it.

Odd as it may sound, I agree with both jgaiser and harryE123.

doesn't seem odd to me, I frequently agree with both poles of opposing viewpoints.

That's the thing with opposing viewpoints on delicate issues, they both usually have some pretty compelling arguments, you can't but agree with some at least of the arguments on both sides.
