Yes, it does. I wonder if the 950 will come with a cover and a travel case, like the 900 did.

L, I really like the way my 505 in its cover fits altogether in my M-EDGE travel case.

Surely, the 950 will not fit the same way in this same case.

Hopefully, there will be something comparable that will work.

Substitute the 600 for the 505.

Dimensions 505 / 600
Height: 5.9" / same
Width: 4.8" / same
Depth: 0.3" / 0.4"

Let me get this right, the new sony readers CAN'T browse the web except for 950, not even a blog or something? What a let down...

what an excellent comparison link btw, thanks so much.

As a former 505 owner and a current 900 owner,
The only real "drawback" for you to consider regarding the 950 is the weight difference.

I found that going from the 505 to the 900 was a noticeable difference in weight, which meant some reading positions (like holding it up while lying in bed) got a bit strenous. Sounds silly but true in my case.

The 950 is supposed to be lighter but since I have not found a published weight for the 950 yet, I'm not sure how much lighter. Mind you the weight of the 650 vs the old 505 is significantly less so there is a chance the 950 will be somewhere near the weight of the old 505.

I'm also assuming Sony has indeed fixed the bad glare issues on the 900 because of the touchcreen.

S, I believe I saw somewhere that the 950 is about an ounce heavier than the 505 so, if true, this should not be a problem.

hi all... I have a big question about sony prs-950. In some pictures i saw a very ugly (plastic?) finish in the left side. The other models have a continuos aluminium body in the front. Maybe is for the wi-fi?

Sorry for my bad english.

Question Note Problem

Would love to hear if the annotation problem (note taking becomes unusable after more than a few annotations) still exists. If you are thinking on buying a Sony Reader you should definitively check this annoying problem: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...9&goto=newpost

Battery life is decent considering it's not an eInk device. With my usage (reading, surfing, an occasional round of solitaire played by my wife), I get about a week of battery life. Sometimes it's shorter. That's when my wife can't get off playing solitaire .

For reading plain text, I still prefer my dediated eInk Prs600.
If an ipad is too expensive, I would suggest taking a look at the new Archos 10.1 for $300. You can use the android versions of Kobo, Kindle, nook, Aldiko, FBreader, Adobe reader, beamreader, Laputa, and Documents to Go to satisfy all of your reading needs.
