Load 'em up, leave it plugged in overnight or whilst you're away at work. I don't see why this is a problem, or (with apologies) why you even have to ask.

Insulation.

Plus decoration. I mean, pbooks just look better on the shelf than ebooks do.

I like to re-read books and I want to keep my active library on my Kindle. By "active" I mean books related to the books I'm reading.

I (mostly) read science fiction and romance novels, peppered with YA series. In most cases, the "new" book I'm reading has prequels in the series. I like to keep all the books in the series available for impulse reading and/or to check up on continuity. In at least one case, that means books written under multiple pseudonyms.

Well, I used to work for a company that had a large mobile devices division and they had a low out-of-the-box failure rate, compared to industry average, at 5%. So if the Kindle is anywhere near that, your odds are low but not extremely low.

I have two options and don't know which ones best, a) leave my kindle on charge over night as I will load the books in the evening, or b) let the battery run down and just accept the charge won't last very long.

Like other users I like to have my entire Calibre library on tap, whenever I want, my existing Sony Touch has 701 books on it now
whitearrow gave me this suggestion earlier:

"One way you can tell how the indexing is doing is to do a search -- choose a "rare" word so it doesn't generate 500 hits, and when it gives you the list it will give you the number of how many titles haven't been indexed yet at the bottom. You can click to see which they are, and if they seem to be stuck you can delete and reload one at a time."

If I were to load my books again, I would just send them all and leave the Kindle plugged in overnight. But I would check, by the method whitearrow suggested, in the morning. If it is still indexing, I would let it sit and check again after a while. If it appears to be stuck on a few, then you can delete and reload. I even reconverted a couple that were not indexing. Eventually all of mine did get indexed.

Thanks I just did that and had no numbers, I sent 500 books to my Kindle last night and left it plugged into the mains overnight, so it looks like everything sync'd okay, thanks for the tip

Since I have a Bible loaded, a good test word for me is "Nebuchadnezzar". Provided I remember how to correctly spell it.

I have a really weird battery problem with one of my new K3s - it's overheating. First noticed when charging and it became just short of HOT around the lower right hand corner. Unplugged, I noticed that with use of the right-hand next page button the surrounding area began to heat up again.

It's being replaced (before it ignites).

Now, on to sort out the freezing problem on the other K3.

Maybe if you combined the two

If I had received 2 defective units I'd likely move onto another brand...but on the other hand these are new models so first buyers beware until the bugs are worked out
