Oh my god, its here !!!!!!!! My postie arrived in the van 2 minutes ago and delivered them both! I am one happy bunny, so far, haven't opened it yet, fingers crossed its all okay. Off to charge my 3G now, I may be gone some time

UPDATE: okay Im back, its plugged in and I now have to wait 3 hours to charge it, oh the pain !!!! LOL
It is so pretty I really like it, and light, at least compared to my metal sonys

I must be odd, cause I actually love the smell of the USB cord, I know others are hating the whiff, but it reminds me of a new doll smell, brought me right back to childhood when I smelt it, ah bliss

))) very exciting. I think I'm going to clear a charging space in the kitchen for when mine arrives and get a camera to take those first pics!

I'm glad you finally have it. Mine took two hours to charge, but as I loaded 500 books on it last night I left it plugged into the mains all night to let the Indexing sort its self out.

Your postman makes deliveries at 6:45 am? That is impressive. I'm happy if he is here before 1.30 pm. Yesterday I got a card stating that deliveries will be even later. Off course, these days it is 98% bulk DM. I have one bill that is still delivered by mail. The rest goes straight to the bank's e-mail system.

it was actually 7.45am. The vans always deliver early, the foot postie tends to come around 11.30 but the holiday stand ins are much later, after 2pm

After a short play, it is very nice, but I believe it needs a cover -- it's almost too light and thin for me! Keyboard is tricky, I'm guessing I'll learn to handle it. Given that this Kindle is can direct order from Amazon, I'll be intrigued to see how much I use the direct-buy rather than doing it via the computer. Page turns do seem faster than on my Gen3, but not into the seriously different territory.

I'm not convinced the "white" is any whiter -- I'll need to have a look at it side-by-side -- but it feels like it is less prone to the microcapsules getting stuck. I shall have to dig out my macro lens and play at the weekend.

Triple yay - mine has finally arrived! I'm not going to mess with it much while it charges but am very impressed with the dark text compared with my K2i. This one looks a lot darker and crisper. It feels a little too light so I'm glad I have a cover to put it in.

Its here at last! Hard choice, do some work or settle down to read

First impression its lovely, surprisingly thin and light, really needs a protective cover so will have to start looking for one I like(and can afford).

My case hasn't arrived yet. I have to go out later, want to take it with me. I will try and buy something on my way just to keep it in whilst it's in my bag. I'll have to walk into town carefully.

I'm using a padded envelope, which works a treat.
