I was in two minds what to do as I couldn't be at home both days, thats why I kept an eye on the City Link site, I just wish they had updated it earlier thats all, before I left for work.

I have rung them and they can deliver again tomorrow, its more a case now if they leave it with a neighbour and then my neighbour is out all evening, thats happened before

my 3G has finally despatched this morning, funny how it happened half hour after calling CS about it

expedited but gone RM again, not even first class!!!

Delivery est tomorrow though, so all good, just hope I get one that doesn't have a bad screen or rebooting issues.

Won't be able to sleep tonight now

If it goes via royal mail will it come in the normal post or via special delivery???

Mine is comming via royal mail but estimated delivery is on thursday.

I ordered the 3G model (1st August) and had an estimated delivery date of 27th-28th August. The order finally went into the "Dispatching Soon" state on Sunday and has remained there since

Phoned CS this morning and was told that, despite the order status, there is no stock and I'll just have to wait until I receive an email telling me that it's available again.

That completely goes against my understanding of what Amazon's "Dispatching Soon" status means, but thought I'd share this anyway. Ultimately I don't mind waiting; it's the misinformation that frustrates me.

Did you speak to general CS or kindle support??

When I called CS yesterday they just said that there was no stock and it wasnt comming in until next week. Then I was put through to kindle support who told me that it was on a van heading somewhere and it would be dispatched within the next 2-3 days. Then I called back kindle support this morning because it had been dispatching soon since sunday morning and they got it dispatched for me this morning.

I do believe that they updated a lot of orders to the dispatching soon status even though they didnt have enough stock to cover all those orders.

Ordered my 3g kindle on 3 Aug. Status went to "dispatch soon" a couple of days ago then changed to "dispatched" early hours of this morning with delivery expected tomorrow just in time as I fly to Cairo on Friday and want to load it with guide books.

I tried general CS first this morning but they didn't have any real ideas of when to expect more stock.

After that I called Kindle Support and they gave me an guestimated shipping date of around the 4th of September for a order placed on the 5th of August.

Long wait

Having now spoken to Kindle Support, I've been advised that my order has been dispatched even though the order status hasn't updated to say this. The chap wasn't able to provide details other than "it's on the van to the delivery company".

So it's either in stock or it's not, and it's either already on its way or it's not. So that's cleared everything up for me
