Yup! The e-ink is easier on my eyes. After reading the first book or two on the iPad, I went back to the Kindle for reading. The iPad is great to browse the web with, and to jot off a quick email to somebody. And the 3G on the iPad was useful on vacation, where we didn't have wifi. Everybody checked their email on the iPad!

I'm here! I'm ok! this was a really grueling trip! up at 5 a.m. yesterday, left the house at 9. I dozed very briefly on the bus a few times, but not enough to really call it sleep. it is currently almost 8 p.m. I'm hanging on until 9 when I can call and check on the fur kids.

the massacre was on the east coast, I am about 30 miles inland from the west coast. regardless it still has people MASSIVELY freaked and upset.

all is not well in legal land regarding trying to close down the estate. I'm too angry to post about that right now, more tomorrow.

anyway. exhausted but ok

And now, getting ready for my LAST day at work. 35 straight years there, and I've never had more than 2 weeks off at a stretch.

I'm feeling happy/sad, nervous/relaxed, serene/confused, jubilant/terrified. We're talking a big lifestyle change here, and I'm not real good with change. (See above statement, .."35 straight years..")
