FYI I tried ordering from here, the account creation page allows you to enter a country and postcode outside of USA. But when you add the item to your cart and get to the shipping part of the checkout there's no shipping options available to allow you to proceed and complete the transaction. They haven't replied to email I sent a day and a half ago asking about it. It really is tough getting it for good value outside US. Ebay sellers and retailers are really profiteering off lack of distribution. Good on them but I just can't afford it.

My wifes 30th birthday is 3 weeks away and every night since the rumored release of the 505 i have scoured the internet for a site that will send the 505 to Australia. I saw your post and immediately ordered one. I dont like my chances of getting it in 3 weeks but it's my only hope so far. Thanks again maxk!

I just got an email from Adorama saying the 505 is on backorder. Either a lot of other people beat me to it or they are only take preorders. How did you go maxk? |

Hello, in reply to your question about shipping to Canada.
			 Quote:
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sellerguid...importing.html ;-) two weeks ago I bought a PRS-500 on ebay for $250US. for Canadians this is a great time to buy anything from the States due to the currency parity. The "textbook" version is that you will have to:
"By the book" you would pay $10.28 duty $18.90 GST $16.20 PST $45.38 total. Now, I've heard, but never done this myself.... that if the seller declares it as a gift, no value quoted, chances are it will get past customs and none of the above will be charged.... But that's just a rumor and I would certainly not recommend it..... Also, if you can wait, get the seller to ship via USPS instead of UPS or what have you. the shipping cost me $13! That's all! OK, it took 10 long days to get here, but.... Patrick

They have now added a note to the blue 505 page saying it's a new product and they are waiting for their first delivery. It definitely wasn't there before and the silver 505 page doesn't mention it. If you're in a hurry and want the silver one maybe you can ask them to switch to the silver? (I'm suspecting it will have the same note after someone makes an order though ).

I'll hold out for the blue version. They will take a few days to verify my credit card details anyway by the sounds of it. Hopefully it wont be too long before they come in seen they were released at the start of the month. The Aussie dollar helps as well. Heard on the radio last week they are estimating the AUD will reach parity (1 for 1) with the USD by christmas, and there is even talk by Easter 08 it could go as high as 1AUD = $1.20USD. WOO HOO! |

Hi maxk and Kaboom, thanks both of you. I have just ordered the gadget from adorama. Now let's see how long we have to wait. Which one is the bigger ocean the Pacific or the Atlantic. I guess the Pacific. If you get my drift. ;-) Friedhelm |

Do you know much I paid? $519. Just because there arent any other sellers shipping to my country. $379 for device (I wanted it asap so ebay is one of the only sollutions), $70 for shipping (fedex, but usps would be a bit cheaper), $70 TAX (even the package was marked as gift and has value of $125). But Im still happy. Cant wait for delivery tomorrow. :-) |
