I'm not keen on having to use the SYM button in order to access numbers, makes it much trickier when entering passwords whilst browsing online etc. The keys are a good enough distance apart for me to able to use them ok, I just got my husband to try it as he has quite chunky fingers but he says he's had no difficulties at all either.

Yes I can imagine I'll miss the numbers. There looks like there is ample space between the top line of buttons and the screen so I wonder why they couldn't squeeze the numbers in too?

Be good if you could assign numbers to letter keys and access by pressing one other character.

I agree completely, at first with the way the Sym pop up box is laid out, I assumed that each sym related to a key on the keyboard. Instead you have to use the 5 way controller. I'm not criticizing the fact, just remarking it went against how I would naturally expect it to work.

I thought you could also use ALT and top row of letters for numbers? Sure it mentions it in the shortcuts in the manual..........might be easier if it does.

I've only looked through the quick start guide so far, which didn't mention that. I tried it out though & you're quite right. Have just made a very small video of my Kindle, will upload it to YouTube then post a link.
