My cover has been "shipping soon" for almost 12 hours, my Kindle for almost 7... My limited patience is surely being tried... I am in desperate need of an email from Amazon.

I ordered on the 29th and got the "shipped" email at 5:20 today. I'm in CA. It's coming via UPS from Indiana on Friday.

Ordered on July 30th, mine still says "not yet dispatched" but the delivery estimate is August 27th-August 31st. Since it said "order now to ensure release date delivery" on the day I ordered, I shall not be a happy bunny if it doesn't come on Friday as promised.

In the last few days the delivery option's also gone from Super-Saver, to First Class, to Expedited, all at no extra cost. Wonder what's going on.

Well, I'm not going nuts - just a bit ticked off. I will not be happy if they do not fulfill their Aug 27 delivery promise, particularly when ordered on the first day of the announcement.

I think there is a lot happening without Amazon updating the orders. They may do it in batches, but it doesnt mean that nothing is happening with your orders, you just cant see it! It is frustrating though, I do understand.

I just received my email!!

My Kindle has shipped!!

I can't track it yet, but it says delivery estimate of August 27th!

My cover though is still "shipping soon".

Updated: The cover has now shipped! Estimated delivery of the 27th too.

Between 11pm and midnight, my lighted cover changed from "Shipping Soon" to "Shipped". I checked the tracking info and see that it's coming to me from Lexington, KY. Kindle itself (3G black, ordered on 1 Aug) still says "We'll notify you via e-mail ..." Oh well. The battery & charger for my K1 arrived today and through process of elimination I was able to determine that it was the charger that had failed, so the K1 (with the old battery) is fully recharged and there's a spare battery for that time in the future when it might be needed. My daughter-in-law can hardly wait for my K3 to arrive since she will be inheriting the K1.

Actually, it was at night time yesterday (in the middle of Australia's afternoon) when they started moving everyone's orders. They do work at nightime.

I just clicked the Change Payment Method and it updated to:
Shipping estimate: August 26, 2010 - August 30, 2010
Delivery estimate: August 30, 2010 - September 2, 2010

Mine is already paid up in full, using Gift Cards.
I actually included a gift card to myself, could that be why it is a bit later than the rest of you?

Since it didn't do that without me prompting the system, I think Amazon has something to think about as the most "Customercentric" corporation in the world.
