eBook behavior in a pBack world

This is embarrassing, but I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has ever done this. I was reading a paperback version of book on parenting (I'll be a dad soon,) and I came across a word I didn't recognize. I actually started to touch the word with the intention of seeing the definition magically pop up.

Needless to say, it didn't work.

Also strange is that I own a Kindle 2, not a PRS...so I'm not even sure why my brain thought my pBack book was touch compatible.

It's those pregnancy hormones making your thinker all loopy. Best wishes to your growing family!!

I do that whenever I am working on the PC. What's bad is when I reach up there and try to pinch to zoom.

I have a related issue --

to get from the street to my apt, I need to tap my keycard at the front door, at the elevators to summon one, and again on the elevator itself (our cards only access our actual floor). Every so often, I find myself reflexively reaching for the keycard to enter my apt ... which has a real (manual key) lock, not an electronic one!

I'll sometimes squeeze the bottom left corner of a paperback and wait for the page to turn. Oops.

Ha! I do things like that to pbooks too. I just wait for them to change when I push on the spots where the buttons should be. But, to be fair, after reading a few pbooks in a row, I then try to turn pages on my sony... by physically picking up the print.

I haven't had any problems with it. Holding a p-book open to the correct page is annoying enough to remind me what it is I'm reading.

I finished a p-book yesterday. There wasn't another one in it.

Back when I was using a Palm (backlit) device for reading in bed, I'd just bought a brand new pBook release from one of my favourite authors, sat down in bed, turned the light off, and looked in confusion as the page didn't glow in the dark

I do the SAME THING. Sometimes I touch the page (yeah, I have a non-touchable Kindle as well), but mostly I'll twitch my right thumb, trying to cursor-down using the 5-way controller

Hmm, it's been over a year since I've read a pbook... Must be somewhere in May 2009, when I finally got that book (for free!) that I've wanted for ages

Just today I tried to unlock the front door of the house with the key fob for my car. Then I heard my car, behind me, go "beep-beep." Duh.

Yep. Done that.

I've also turned my PDA over to "read the back cover of the book".

I know I've had a long, tiring day when I try to unlock my front door with my car remote. But yes, I've done that too.

Been there, done that. What's funny is, unless I have passengers, I usually use the key to open my truck unless I have to open a back door.
