I just got an email from Amazon saying both the Kindle and cover have shipped. Expected delivery date is August 26th and I didn't even choose overnight or two-day shipping.

So far it looks like the Kindles are being shipped from Lexington, KY and Whitestown, IN.

For those in the US that have received their shipping notices, are they shipping from anywhere else besides these two locations? Anyone from the West Coast get a shipping notice yet?

I'm hoping mine comes from Las Vegas. I've received 2-day Prime shipments from there in one day.

I pre-ordered a PS3 Slim from Amazon and chose free shipping. They still decided to ship it in time for release day.

I'm hoping the same thing happens for my K3 (although I know I'm pushed out to a Sept deliver).

I still don't have a "preparing for shipment," but I have had things arrive from Whitestown within a day (leave in the morning, and show up around dinner time).

Me too!!!! I also ordered mine on 30 July along with the non-lighted cover, 2 day shipping and both items in the same shipment. Status for the cover shows estimated delivery of 31 Aug, but nary a peep/change on the K3 WiFi status ("We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.
