I am hoping the Overdrive app lets us side load eBooks and is using ADE.

EBSCO NetLibrary eBooks on iPhone, iPad

On a related note, if your library has eBooks from EBSCO NetLibrary, they work great on iPhone and iPads now using the txtr app. I just tested a number of titles, and everying worked fine. The page turning functionality in the txtr reader itself needs to be improved, and I am sure will be in upcoming releases; otherwise, it is all good.

The Ectaco JetBook Lite supports ADE, B&N, and Secure eReader DRM scams, so you
can use ADE on your PC to add readable ADE DRMed material directly to the JBL.
You can also create an SD card with the Adobe files and folders, that will have ADE
see the SD card as your device.

I also have no interest in authorizing ADE on my PC, and I fear that this Overdrive
app will be as "net connected" and dependent as ADE.

Somehow the eBook lending library experience, appears less than attractive and I
find forgoing it no hardship. I remove DRM infections as a matter of course for all my
eBook purchases.

Luck;
Ken

Once again, no love for WebOS. It's simple to port over from iPhone. Why don't they want my business?

If HP comes thru with some nice new Palm devices, I think you'll see a lot of WebOS love in the near future!

I'm hoping so. Maggie, I have a Palm Pre Plus, and found that the reading apps for it are fabulous. A larger screened device with WebOS and those apps would make a dream reader. (at least for me).

I would love a 6- or 7-inch screen WebOS tablet. The big iPad-sized ones, no. Too hard to carry around. Really I'd love one with a PixelQi screen. :-) Backlit LCD makes everything go black and swirly for me after a bit. The Kobo app is pretty good but could use some updating--it's still a beta app. pReader is really full-featured, and I use it for public domain stuff.

The rumors are saying next month for an updated Pre, later in the year for an updated Pixi, and next year for an HP WebOS tablet!

I know, and that's got me chasing the tech dragon again, LOL. I *want* a nook and/or a K3. But.... a WebOS tablet with the current reader apps available would read EVERYTHING, which is a big deal for me. I can deal with LCD no problem (my current main reading device is an Asus T91MT convertible netbook/tablet).
Wonder if one of those (a WebOS tablet) would be able to work with calibre....? Calibre already picks up my Pre Plus, so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to. Guess I need to stop speculating and just wait, hmm?
